Pulse Duplicator
From our extensive background in bio-fluid dynamics, BDC Laboratories has developed the next generation pulse duplicator system with BDC’s Statys comprehensive control and monitoring software. The PD-1100 was developed to achieve two capabilities, with the first being to drive simulated cardiovascular networks, and heart valve hydrodynamic testing. In cardiovascular simulation networks, the PD-1100 acts as the pumping heart. Therefore with the PD-1100 and the appropriate components, the local hemodynamics of any vascular bed can be simulated. Typical applications include aortic, peripheral (carotid & femoral), in addition to venous and pulmonary networks. To this end BDC Labs offers a complete custom cardiovascular flow network, utilizing the PD-1100 as the heart source.
The second capability of the PD-1100 pulse duplicator is for use as a pulsatile hydrodynamic flow and pressure source for heart valve testing, per ISO 5840. To achieve this goal, the PD-1100 can be coupled with BDC’s heart valve flow apparatus or can be coupled with other existing test system valve chambers. The PD-1100 allows for complete control of wave forms and flow fields and is designed for exceptional stability and reproducibility. The system includes control and acquisition software that is customizable to meet our client’s needs. During the purchasing process, BDC personnel will work with our clients to incorporate custom driving waveforms, data analysis algorithms, or any other software / hardware requirements that may be desired.
