Pulse Duplicators
From our extensive background in bio-fluid dynamics, BDC Laboratories has developed the next generation of pulse duplicator / pulsatile pump systems, the PD-1100 and PD-0500.
The PD-1100 was developed as a highly repeatable and controllable fluid driver to achieve two primary capabilities. The first of these is to drive simulated cardiovascular flow networks for device validation testing or research applications. In cardiovascular simulation networks, the PD-1100 acts as the pulsatile pumping heart; therefore with the PD-1100 and the appropriate components, the local hemodynamics of any vascular bed can be simulated. The second capability of the PD-1100 pulse duplicator is for use as a pulsatile hydrodynamic flow and pressure source for heart valve testing, per ISO 5840. To achieve this goal, the PD-1100 can be coupled with BDC’s heart valve flow apparatus or can be coupled with other existing test systems. Depending on the application, the PD-1100 includes either our Statys PD or Statys HDT system control and data acquisition software package.
In contrast, the PD-0500 was developed as a simplified, portable pulse duplicator / pulsatile pump system that could be easily transported and operational within minutes. The PD-0500 is a comprehensive system that includes an integrated heated fluid reservoir, compliance chamber, adjustable resistance, and pumping mechanism. The PD-0500 is designed to easily couple with any existing vascular or cardiac model or BDC can design and build a silicone or rigid model based on your specifications and needs. When it comes to on-site surgeon training, market research, or product demonstrations, the PD-0500 system is the optimal solution.
