Pulsatile Hydrodynamic Test System

The HDT-200 Pulsatile Hydrodynamic Dual Chamber Heart Valve Test System has been designed to achieve the ISO 5840 pulsatile testing requirements in a focused and efficient manner for both surgically implanted and percutaneous heart valves.

The accompanying Statys™ HDT control and monitoring software has been developed to give the user absolute control over the pulse duplicator excitation waveform. This unique feature results in an extremely stable flow field that meets ISO requirements for assessment of the hydrodynamic performance of aortic and mitral heart valves and simulates ventricle and atrial muscle contraction and relaxation. In addition, the Statys HD software provides real-time data collection and analysis of the device parameters of interest, such as pressure differences, effective orifice area, regurgitant volumes, leakage rates, and velocity flow fields. All data is further recorded and available for post analysis with unique and easy to use tools imbedded in the Statys HDT software. For improved accuracy and measurement stability, BDC’s HDT heart valve test systems have been designed to interface with state of the art, ultrasonic flow meter technology.
